Personal statement

My distinct interest in Aesthetic Medicine has become rooted in my heart since I started working as a medical supervisor at Total Skin Repair Aesthetic Clinic in Myanmar. Since then, a strong wish to fulfil the satisfaction of aesthetic desire and goals of patients was born in my mind. However, I haven’t had much knowledge and practices to be a professional aesthetic doctor. In addition, my weak financial support seriously hinders my further study abroad as well.

My first inclination to become an aesthetic doctor  rose out of my mind because I firmly believe that while the aging process is ultimately inevitable and cannot be stopped; it can be delayed, making the transition smoother. It is also true to say that a more graduated ageing process can in turn do wonders as by enhancing one’s quality of life.

Furthermore, the highest goal of my life is to run my own aesthetic clinic where patients can enjoy their treatment in total privacy and comfort. More importantly, I would like to apply the knowledge I have gained through my training course from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM) to my career in my country. Why I choose the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM) is because it is not only incredibly interesting scholarship program but also rewarding hands-on training courses and workshop in aesthetic medicine.

Therefore I am looking forward to entering the training course and beginning to learn in great details about aesthetic medicine at your scholarship program. I have already made a plan to continue to challenge myself and my career as an aesthetic doctor for the rest of my life.

To conclude, I cannot wait to expand my knowledge and practices in aesthetic medicine. I am very enthusiastic to implement my dream and achieve my goal.

Post-course report

It has been very pleasure attending the level 1 Certificate course of AAAM as a scholarship winner. I am looking forward to attend the level 2 Diploma course and more programs. The entire program – the materials, lecturers and the hands on training sessions was very informative, interesting and invaluable to me. This is an excellent beginner’s course for aesthetic medicine - providing background, demonstration and workshops for participants. It is also very encouraging and educational that we can communicate with other doctors with similar interest from different countries. Now, I can confidently start these procedures with invaluable experiences that I gained during the training. There is no doubt that the AAAM programs are the best for who are interested in aesthetic practice. I enthusiastically recommend the AAAM courses to anyone who is in the aesthetic field or improving their existing practice.

Personal statement

I been interested in dermatology since I was a Year 3 medical student and I read a lot of articles regarding dermatology till one day I came across the term AESTHETIC MEDICINE. Since then my passion in the aesthetic medicine and its  movement grew, until I started my Housemanship in Malaysia. After I graduated, I sought more and more information, guidance and knowledge regarding aesthetic from my senior medical officer and articles regarding medical aesthetics. Then I finally found the path to get myself qualified to practise in this field by AAAM’s Board Certification courses.

I love helping people to feel more confidence and presentable. This is a golden opportunity for me to get myself into aesthetic field with a globally-recognised certificate and the qualification to practise aesthetic medicine.

My aim is not only getting a diploma from AAAM, but to do my best to get Board Certification Program through this golden opportunity of the AAAM scholarship. I will be active in the community because I deeply believe in the exchange of ideas and sharing expertise to optimise our clinical skill and serve new members that join AAAM.

Post-course report

First of all I would like to thank AAAM community for giving me such a precious chance by offering me a scholarship to attend AAAM level 1.

Aesthetic medicine practice is a much different medicine practice compared to other medicine specialties and Image Enhancement in one’s appearance has been my passion.

After each day of the AAAM level 1 Diploma course I attended in Malaysia, I left the course with a newfound confidence and sense of direction in my cosmetic clinical practice that I interest most.

The aesthetic ‘live’ procedure and hands-on training was an amazing experience in every way - the program was put together perfectly!

AAAM is extremely knowledgeable, teaching doctors were radiating passion for this industry; lectures were engaging for maximum retention of information and helped each of us individually understand from the hands-on perspective, practical materials and practice format which were invaluable for efficient learning.

Compared to other courses that I attended before, I had learned much more during my AAAM  diploma training, and gained much more knowledge and value from the experts in the industry. Most importantly I was inspired to continue reaching for my dream.

More than that, AAAM showed us how to share knowledge, which taught me that in the same way ANYTHING else is possible as long as we put our minds to it; furthering my commitment in my career.

Personal statement

I am writing to apply to attend the AAAM course sponsored by AAAM scholarship.

 I am 34 year old and is a graduate of National Defense Medical Center of Republic of China. I am presently a doctor in charge in Tri-Service General Hospital, Taipei, Taiwan. Besides my daily responsibility, I take great interest in aesthetic medicine. Meanwhile, I am looking for every opportunity to learn more knowledge and better skill on aesthetic medicine.

 I am so excited to learn that your good Academy is convening a seminar on aesthetic medicine and is offering scholarship for qualified candidate. I am confident that this seminar will much improve my knowledge in the field of aesthetics. As a practicing dermatologist, I felt that the field of aesthetic medicine is becoming more and more important to our daily practice. The AAAM has long been dedicated to teaching physicians who have a scientific and clinical interest in exploring the aesthetic medical facet of their practice. Also, I am dedicated to joining the AAAM community where I could contribute my skill and expand the influence of this great community in Taiwan.

Personal statement

I finished my Certificate Course of Aesthetic Medicine in Manila last January 2013 and the course really helped me in my medical aesthetic practice. The lectures were complete, detailed and updated with the latest trend. The hands-on training provided was helpful. I could say that AAAM remains true to their word of teaching the art, science, techniques and procedures of aesthetic medicine and disseminate leading edge information gathered from advances around the world to their members.

As an AAAM member, I have benefited from this membership thru receiving the latest information, scientific discussions and continuous education on aesthetic medicine.

I live in a rural area and I am the one who introduced aesthetic medicine in my locality. People criticized me for putting up an aesthetic clinic in my place because they say the locales here would rather buy food or other basic necessities rather than spend their extra money on making themselves beautiful and satisfy their aesthetic desires. That notion is changing as because people are now flocking to my 7-month old practice. I don't give them the impression that only upper class people can afford the aesthetic procedures. I made my treatments affordable yet giving them quality service that they are very satisfied with the results.

When I heard about the AAAM scholarship, I immediately inquire about the scholarship details, I really want to grab this opportunity. I am really in financial crisis right now because all my money was invested on my aesthetic clinic like the machines and other products necessary for my practice. I am really hoping that I would be picked as one of the recipients of the scholarship so that I will continue to give my patients the minimally invasive and latest cosmetic treatment to enhance their physical appearance. I will also make Aesthetic treatments a part of a normal health routine with the goal of maintaining a natural and healthy appearance. In spite of this, my treatments would still remain reasonable and affordable for them. This will make Aesthetic Medicine a part of any ordinary person's life, not just for the Upper Class people. Aesthetic treatment is no longer a luxury but a necessity in every person's life.

Together with the AAAM, I will continue to create partnership with them by using the comprehensive education I learned in my practice. I will continue to inspire people that having a natural and beautiful appearance is always achievable.

Post-course report

Since my Level 2 training in October, I have gained confidence as well as the best knowledge and discipline. I am able to perform certain procedures with so much ease now and my patients have noticed the results and are now becoming my “regular clients.” The training with AAAM also developed the business side of my practice. I have received the best methods on how to improve my aesthetic clinic like gaining regular clients, the ins and outs of an aesthetic clinic and how to keep the business going. With my training, I am able to explain to all my patients the benefits of each aesthetic procedure as well as manage the possible complications. It cannot be denied that complications may happen due to a variety of reasons, but because of my training with AAAM, these complications can be avoided. I am now very confident to perform procedures such as mesotherapy. Truly, I can say that my training with AAAM has been the backbone of my aesthetic medical practice.
