From the President The American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM) became in 2001, the 15th national member of the International Union of Aesthetic Medicine (UIME). As a founding member and its first president, I bring to the AAAM more than 25 years of experience in the clinical practice of Aesthetic Medicine. My long association with organized aesthetic medical societies underscores my commitment and passion to the aesthetic medicine movement. A founding member and president of the Belgian Society of Aesthetic Medicine, I later became president of the UIME and currently serve on the Executive Board as an honorary president and CME Director. Attending the UIME International Congress brings a wide range of faculty and professionals together to exchange ideas and share expertise. Information shared represents the leading edge of aesthetic medicine around the world. Annual conferences and congresses are usually somewhat smaller and represent the national or regional highlights of aesthetic medicine.
